Superintendent Caught Fibbing to City Commissioner

Robert-Runcie Broward School Superintendent Robert Runcie was scheduled to address the Lauderhill City Commission at its meeting Monday evening. Instead of attending, Mr. Runice sent a district employee. The employee gave a presentation regarding the $800 million school bond which county voters will decide on in November. During the presentation, Commissioner Benson reported that Mr. Runcie had told him that he was “tied up at a board meeting.”  But according to former Sun-Sentinel reporter Buddy Nevins, Runcie actually skipped out of the board meeting to talk to voters about the bond issue at Wynmoor condominiums in Coconut Creek. Perhaps instead of deceiving an elected official, Mr. Runice should have just used the old Brady Bunch excuse.
